MIDWEEK GROUPS

Beyond Sunday mornings, the church provides the following opportunities for participants to grow in faith, in fellowship and service to the community:

  STUDY GROUPS

We have both on-going and occasional groups that meet to study the Bible and to learn about faith. Check out the Sunday bulletin for details.

 CHOIR

Under the excellent leadership of our music director and                            accompanist, our choir has a good time practicing on Wednesday              nights from 7:00 to 8:30 pm to lead the music in our Sunday service          and to present an anthem in worship a couple of times a month

 MEN’S BREAKFAST

During the school year, the men gather on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 8:00am sharp! to enjoy a delicious breakfast and spend time with each other.

BOOK CLUB
The Book Club will meet Thursday, April 6th to discuss
Take This Bread, by Sara Miles.

LENTEN FAITH EXPLORATION
Our Lenten Faith Exploration takes place Thursdays at 2-3:30 pm             from March 9 - April 6.  Each week we will experience 1 of 5 core         ministries of churches:  worship, teaching, social justice, community         & pastoral care, and proclamation.  Each week is a stand-alone                episode and all are welcome to attend.

OUR CHURCH IN THE COMMUNITY

Our church believes strongly in living out our faith by caring for others and for God’s creation.  Here are some of the ways our congregation attempts to do that:

 ST. DAVID'S THRIFT SHOP
Along with the Anglican Church, we run the Thrift Shop located at 601 Columbia Avenue, under Anderson’s Insurance.

  SOUP KITCHEN
During the year we take our turn cooking for the Sharing Pot Soup Kitchen that provides a noon meal once a week to anyone who needs it.

HARVEST FOOD BANK AND SHELTER PROJECT

A substantial portion of our fundraising is given to support these vital community services.

CASTLEGAR REFUGEE PROJECT
Our congregation helps to support the sponsorship of two young              refugee families in Castlegar, one from Myanmar and one from              from Syria.

Merchants of Doubt film screening at Castlegar United Church on            Thursday, March 16th at 7:00 pm.

ADOPT-A-ROAD

We have committed to keeping a section of road in our community free of litter.
